It’s been suggested recently that a large number newer model MacBook Pro’s are overheating due to an over-application of Thermal Paste on the CPU and GPU areas. The purpose of Thermal Paste (also known as Thermal Grease) is to act as a conductor between the CPU/GPU surfaces and a heatsink to dissipate excessive heat.
